May 2013

Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! 15,400 pounds

Thank you to the postal carriers of Crystal Lake and Algonquin who hosted a very successful food drive campaign in May.  We received 15,400 pounds from the community. Thank you to all those community members who left food out at their mailboxes and those who came to help sort and move food during the drive. Also, a big thank you to the Algonquin Township Garage staff who partnered with the post office and provided a site, trucks and man power to make this an amazing event.

Lundahl Middle School and Georgio's Pizza Partner Together to Help Those in Need!

Thank you to the students, staff at community of Lundahl Middle School who donated about 2577 pounds to the food pantry in May. We appreciate all your hard work and support in feeding those in need in our community. This drive was sponsored by Georgio's Pizza, offering free pizzas to the kids for the food they obtained. Thank you to Georgio's too.

2013 McHenry County Human Race A Success!
 
With the sun shining brightly over 950 walkers/runners supported non for profit organizations in McHenry County for the 3rd Annual Human Race.  Again this year, the Crystal Lake Food Pantry was supported by participants who believe in our mission that No One Should Go Hungry. Proud runner for the pantry Julie Biel Claussen received First Place in her age category!  Congrats Julie and Thank You for Supporting the Pantry.

March 2013

Thank you to the all the local Crystal Lake Cub Scout Packs and Boy Scout Troops who participated in the Scouting for Food food drive.  It brought on about 7000 pounds of food and some monetary donations to the pantry. Thank you also for the support of the community in providing this food to the scouts.

THANK YOU to the entire Crystal Lake Community for coming out in large numbers to help on Thanksgiving morning at the Community Harvest event.  It was a great success due to your hard work and committment to our cause. Also, thank you very much to all of you neighbors and business partners who donated pounds and pounds of food to those in need.  We really appreciate everyone's support and compassion.

A big thank you to the following Crystal Lake community organizations for their participation in the Let's Put a Freeze on ice cream fundraiser. This event was hosted for the month of and proceeds went to the food pantry. These amazing vendors are:  McDonalds, Julie Ann's Custard, Yumz, KaleidoScoops, Culvers of Crystal Lake.  Thank you so much for your support of our mission to make sure that no one goes hungry in our community.

Thank you soo much to Jersey Mike's and our community for your support of our June fundraiser which raised $2000 and 360 pounds of food for the pantry. We really appreciate Jersey Mike's willingness to donate their sandwiches for free with a $2 donation to the pantry. Together we can help those in need in our community.
